The Wachezaji Foundation Staff is comprised of skilled and experienced individuals who take pride in helping student-athletes grow academically and athletically. Their years of experience from collegiate athletes to collegiate coaching to NBA recruiting and much more is second to none!
FOUNDER & INTERNATIONAL SCOUT
Brenda Adhiambo is a former NJCAA and NCAA student-athlete. She graduated from Los Morris Junior College in Jacksonville, Texas where she earned JC All-American honors and had her jersey retired and displayed at the WNBA Hall of Fame “Ring of honor.” She continued her student-athlete career at Seattle University, where she was the 2013 team captain and led her team to win the Western Athletic Conference Championship, among receiving other honors. Also, at Seattle University, Brenda was a youth basketball coach and tutor for Youth Enrichment, Academics and Health (YEAH), as well as the campus-wide student coordinator of a local shoe drive for kids in need through Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE).
VICE PRESIDENT
Mornica Anyango has worked for multiple organizations in Kenya for multiple years. She is multi-talented in an array of areas to include project management, guidance and counseling and community development to name a few. She is multilingual and speaks Kiswahili, Luo and English fluently.
TREASURER & DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS US
Dorena Bingham is a former collegiate basketball coach at Seattle University. She also coached the U16, U17, and U18 USA Basketball Women’s National Team. She has extensive knowledge in an array of areas which include player development, practice and game planning, fundraising, education, and application.
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS AFRICA
Yunia Wasuda is a former basketball player. She overseas the foundation in Africa and manages the daily operations. Her role includes handling the scouting of players, coordinating travel, recruiting for prospects, reserving basketball venues and coordinate camps.
TALENT SCOUT
Birungi Mariam is a former basketball player at Kyambogo University where she was a two-time MVP. She also played for the Ugandan National Team. After college she dedicated herself to mentoring kids in her village to help them achieve their basketball goals and reach the next level.
RECRUITER
Abel Nelson works in recruiting for the Toronto Raptors and the Giants of Africa East program . His primary role involves helping the Raptors set up basketball camps in Africa. He played professionally in Kenya and Cameroon and has done scouting for FIBA Africa.
